Junior Financial Analyst

scil animal care company, a Heska company is looking to fill the position of Junior Financial Analyst. We’re looking for an individual who is excited by the fast-paced environment of an impressive public company. This position will work cross-functionally to deliver value across the entire organization with a focus on business related projects. scil is looking for a self-starter to support financial planning, analysis and projections for the corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management
  • Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist Controller with month end and quarter end close process, including preparation and review of reconciliations and journal entries
  • Work closely with department managers on day-to-day accounting tasks and activities to ensure all transactions are being processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Understand internal customer Reset programs and assist the Lab Product Manager in program management; ensure accuracy of accounting in compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare commission calculations for manager’s review
  • Assist and interface for internal and external audits
  • Other ad-hoc projects and assist other accounting roles as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting; and/or working toward CPA accounting designation
  • 1 year of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modelling
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Attention to accuracy and detail required
  • Ability to perform job with little supervision and consistently displays good judgement.
  • Solid administrative and organizational skills with ability to adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad hoc issues
  • Must be an excellent team player with a positive can-do attitude and willing to grow with the organization
